Description
Wilfred & Winifred would certainly create a unique focal point in any room. They are a figurative representation of the much loved Wood Mouse with their white tummies, and big eyes, essential for nocturnal living.
The mice sit on shelves of Bracket fungus attached to a pine tree’s bark and are surrounded by autumnal Bramble leaves, ripe brambles and glossy Ivy. Wilfred is stretching to catch a glimpse of the Bramble Winifred is eating!
Wood mice are native to the British countryside and symbolise the idea of having the ability to accomplish anything in life regardless of your size. … In Greek mythology, the mouse is viewed as a sacred being because of its power to adapt to any conditions. Mice are also seen as prophets of the weather.
The original ‘Wilfred’ and ‘Winifred’ were hand sculpted in wax using traditional sculpting methods by Kirsty Armstrong, who has been a sculptor for more than 30 years. They are hand cast by ‘Lakeland Mouldings’ a small company in the English Lake District before being polished and finished by Kirsty in her Cumbrian workshop.
These Mouse wall sculptures are being produced as a limited edition of 250 pieces. They are also available to purchase singularly in separate product listings.
Please check the current processing time (it can vary). Each piece is hand made to order.
