Description
One of a kind hen sculpture sitting in a straw nest. This stoneware reddish brown chicken was made with slabs of clay I assembled creating darts to give it its shape.
My grandma kept chickens when I was growing up and I loved going to her farm and spend time with the animals. Chickens are still linked to memories of happy times of my childhood.
Ideal gift for animal lovers and collectors.
Fired to 1200°C, so make it suitable for outdoors as well as indoors. Although sustained freezing temperatures may injure her.
The nest is about 12cm long and 9 cm wide, with the hen 11cm at the highest point.
Designed and handmade in the UK by Marion Walsh.
