Copper Heart Tanzanite Pendant Necklace

Description

This heart shaped pendant has been handcrafted from copper clay and features a 8mm. Tanzanite cabochon, inspired by organic shapes found in nature. Each pattern is carefully impressed into the clay before being refined by hand to bring out every delicate detail.

Once dry, the piece is kiln-fired, transforming the copper clay into solid copper. After firing, I hand-paint the pendant in various shades of blue which stands out against the warm copper metallic tones, highlighting the texture and giving it a rich, luminous finish. A light polish brings out the natural glow of the copper.

The pendant comes with a sterling silver chain in a choicd of length, 18 inch or 20 inch, a rose gold plated 20 inch -£3 or a no chain option – £5. Each one is completely unique — no two will ever be the same — making this a truly one-of-a-kind piece of jewellery.

Recycled copper is a clay-like material made of copper powder which has been reclaimed and recycled from copper waste, water-soluble organic binders are added producing a metal clay. The clay is then rolled and shaped using texture mats, molds orf organic items, which are impressed into the clay before being fired in a digitally controlled kiln. The binders vaporise, the powder sinters, and the soft clay turns into real solid copper : producing a ready to wear environmentally friendly and sustainable piece of jewellery.
