Description

Etched and painted pewter dragonfly. Approximately 4.5 x 3cms. The brooch fastener is sterling silver. The glass paint used is in shades of yellow, mustard, turquoise, green and blue.

Despatched in a presentation box via the Royal Mail Signed For service in the UK. Care guide included.

N.B. The pewter that you find today, including the metal I use, does not contain lead anymore, consequently, it’s alot shinier than it was historically. Pewter is an alloy consisting mainly of tin though it also contains very small amounts of copper and antimony. It is definitely nickel-free.

Using pewter enables me to etch in a metal that can look as shiny as silver but because it is not such an expensive material, I can experiment more and sometimes do designs on a larger scale as this one is. I’m also asthmatic so I cannot use the chemicals that are used for silver etching, the method for pewter and copper is different and suitable for me. Also in favourof using pewter is that if this was made in sterling silver, it would need to be hallmarked due to the weight/size and would cost probably twice as much.

It is definitely lead-free and nickel-free.

Shipping Policy

I post to UK addresses only (but this does not include NI). I can generally despatch same or next day, barring weekends or Bank Holidays. I use Royal Mail Large Letter Royal Mail Tracked 48. They are clearly labelled and also have my return address on the outside. The customer will be charged £3.50 for the postage and packing.

Refund Policy

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, return within 14 days and I will refund or replace, provided the item is unworn and undamaged and returned in the original package, (though you must pay for the cost of the return postage.) Cancellation of an order is only possible if the item has not been shipped. However, because of hygiene considerations, I cannot exchange/refund earrings. Please contact me prior to returning and ensure that you receive a certificate of posting. This does not apply to custom orders.
