These handmade shell buttons are created using tiny shells, sea glass and natural beach finds collected from Shetland’s shoreline. Each button is set in clear resin, preserving the delicate colours and textures of the materials inside and creating a smooth, durable finish.
Every button is completely unique, making them ideal for adding a special coastal detail to knitting projects, sewing, textile art or craft work. They can also be enjoyed as small decorative keepsakes inspired by the sea.

I am a Shetland Islands artist and love to beach comb. These buttons are a collection of my beach finds. No two can ever be the same.
I make two sizes of these buttons, small measure 2cm, and medium measure 2.5cm
