Description
This original 63 x 43 cm painting captures life above and below the surface of Shetland waters. Fishing boats move across a restless sea under a dramatic sky, while beneath the waves a shoal of fish gathers quietly among flowing kelp and sea grasses.
The work explores the contrast between human activity and the hidden world below — the unseen rhythms that continue regardless of weather or wake. Rich blues and turquoises echo the ever-changing Shetland sea, while the underwater scene invites the viewer to pause and look deeper.
Inspired by the coastal waters of Shetland, this piece reflects a deep connection to the marine environment and the fragile balance between working seas and the life they support.
