Description
Moss Agate is one of those uniquely beautiful stones that is all too easy to get lost in as you gaze at it! Often described as being like a little miniature universe, the gorgeous patterns and swirls inside these stones are some of nature’s most intricate and unusual works of art.
This particular stone is shaped like an arrowhead, and has the most stunning earthy tones, ranging from green to rusty brown and even up towards lilac at the top.
Set in a handcrafted sterling silver bezel setting and with a fixed chain that is embellished with round Moss Agate beads, this is one to both catch the eye and leave a lasting impression!
The pendant itself measures 47mm by 30mm (not including the hanging loop at the top) and has an attached solid silver chain that measures a total wearable length of 62cm (24″) with the longest chain tassel being 5cm in length.
The stone is a natural Moss Agate gemstone, mined in the USA and sourced by me direct from the Lapidary team who cut and polished it.
It has been set into a handcrafted sterling silver bezel setting, with a plain bordered edge and a cut-out backplate that allows the beautiful patterns of the stone to be seen from both sides.
It also has two sets of tiny silver spheres as accents on either side, and three chain ‘tassels’ at the bottom. Both these tassels and the first few centimetres of the main chain have been accented with beautiful green Moss Agate beads, and the whole piece, including the chain, has been given a darkening patina to enhance the details and give it a beautiful vintage vibe with a softly shining finish on the raised areas.
The reverse has a plain brushed satin finish.
A truly special piece of statement jewellery!
Due to its weight this necklace has been fully hallmarked by The London Assay Office as 925 Sterling Silver and also includes my own unique sponsor’s/makers mark ‘KAT’. This serves as a guarantee of authenticity to prove that the metal is of the quality and finesse described.
About The Stone
Agate is ‘the stone of inner stability’, and is found in a great many colours. It is widely regarded as a protective stone, and is said to help raise self-awareness, stabilise the aura, and eliminate and transform negative energy. Other properties it is alleged to possess include an ability to lift mental function by improving clarity of thought and concentration, and the power to soothe and calm by healing inner anger or tension, creating a sense of security and safety.
Moss Agate is a form of chalcedony included in the Agate family. It is a semi-precious stone made from silicon dioxide. Moss Agate has green colored minerals throughout which look like moss. It also has brown or black shades in the patterns.
Moss Agate is considered to be the stone of new beginnings and is all about attracting abundance and tapping into deep-set creativity. It is said to reduce sensitivity to weather and environmental pollutants, encourage tranquility and emotional balance, and improve self-esteem.
About The Packaging & Shipping
Due to weight and value, this necklace already includes the gift packaging upgrade to a ribbon-tied cardboard gift box as standard, which is why the option to select it is not included on this listing. All items are sent in mailing boxes, mailing bags or padded envelopes as appropriate.
Shipping within the UK is already included via Royal Mail’s ‘Tracked 24’ service, with an optional upgrade to Special Delivery available for an additional charge at checkout if required.
If the item is a gift and you wish it to be sent direct to the recipient, then please make sure the mailing address is correct during the checkout process.
I always aim to despatch all orders on the same or next working day that they are received, so any upgrades in postage chosen by a customer will be for the purposes of achieving higher priority and more accurate tracking within the Royal Mail system itself, rather than a faster processing time from me as a seller.
Please be aware that I am unable to guarantee specific delivery times of orders once posted.
Gift Messaging
If your purchase is a gift and you wish to include a handwritten message on a tag then I am more than happy to provide this service free of charge, regardless of packaging choice. Please include any details in the drop-down menu option. As mentioned before, if you wish the item to be sent direct to the recipient then please make sure the mailing address is correct during the checkout process.
If there is anything else at all that you would like to know about a particular item then please don’t hesitate to send me a message and I’ll do my best to help!
Thank you for looking!

About The Jewellery & The Materials I Use
I mainly work with fine silver, 925 sterling silver and 935 argentium sterling silver. The latter is a fairly new alloy which is stronger, brighter, and whiter than traditional sterling and is highly tarnish resistant.
Argentium is also hypoallergenic, making it great for those who have an allergy to traditional sterling silver. I also use copper and brass in my work and often combine it with silver to create more striking mixed-metal designs.
PLEASE NOTE: In accordance with British law, all silver items over 7.78 grams will be hallmarked by The London Assay Office, complete with my maker’s mark ‘KAT’. The exact Hallmarking stamp for metal type will be governed by the lowest classification grade of silver in a piece, which in the majority of cases for my work will be 925 sterling silver. Items under 7.78 grams in weight are not required to be hallmarked by law, but any description will always accurately state the exact composition of metals used. For more information please see the London Assay Office Dealer’s Notice HERE.
Product Images
Every item I make is handcrafted by me to my own designs. Due to the nature of the materials and techniques used, many pieces are unique and ‘one of a kind’, especially when featuring sea glass or other natural materials.
Honesty and accuracy is important to me and most things will be listed and photographed individually – if an item is described as being ‘one of a kind’ then the pictures you see will be of the exact item that will be received by a customer.
If I do create a design that can be accurately reproduced then I may make more than one at a time. This means the same images may be used on repeat listings, where due to the nature of handmade jewellery manufacturing methods there may be some very slight differences or variations between the item shown in photographs and the actual one received.
I will only do so if these variations are absolutely minimal, and in all cases you are always welcome to request more information or images for any item I have for sale before making a purchase.
Care Recommendations
All the jewellery I sell is handmade and as such requires special treatment to ensure its longevity. Aftercare advice on how to best take care of your jewellery is provided in a leaflet and included with all orders.
Please take care to protect it from contact with such things as perfumes, hair sprays, moisturisers and cleaning fluids etc which may contain ingredients that can tarnish or otherwise affect the materials from which it is made. Bleach products in particular can very quickly tarnish silver metals.
Sea glass is somewhat toughened by the tumbling process it has undergone, but ultimately it is still glass and needs to be treated appropriately. In the event that it should become marked or scratched on the surface, a gentle cleaning with a soft brush (such as a toothbrush) and some soapy water should help fix this.
