Original Art Giants Causeway. Pillars in Ireland. Basalt pillars

Description

“Pillars of the Earth” depicts the iconic Giant’s Causeway in all its glory.

A wonderful mix interlocking basalt columns columns glowing in a spectacular sunrise.
A heady mixture of batik and other fabrics have been used to create this unique landscape. It provided quite a challenge for me. I hope you agree that I rose to that challenge with gusto.
By contrast the glorious sunrise has a much softer feel to it. Multiple layers of organza and other sheers were layered to achieve a painterly feel to the sky.
The whole has been heavily free motion stitched with the addition of some hand embroidery.
The complementary patchwork borders extend the artwork further. The left hand side one representing the pillars

“Pillars of the Earth” is an original work of art created solely by myself.
It has a hanging sleeve on the reverse. Baton not inc. but instructions to make a simple one will be sent on request

The artwork will be sprayed with a fabric protector before being dispatched.
