This peaceful painting captures a quiet Shetland evening as the sky glows with soft bands of blue, gold and warm coral as the sun slips below the horizon. In the foreground, the gentle silhouettes of sheep stand against the fading light, grounding the scene in the everyday rhythms of island life.
Distant hills roll softly across the background, while the still water reflects the colours of the sky, creating a sense of balance and calm. The contrast between the vivid sunset and the darkened landscape draws the eye, evoking those fleeting moments when day turns to night and the land feels hushed and timeless.
A tranquil artwork inspired by Shetland’s wide skies, slow evenings and close connection between land, sea and livestock.
