Silver Ivy Leaf Necklace

This stunning handmade fine silver ivy leaf pendant has been recreated from an actual ivy leaf found in the Hermitage of Braid in Edinburgh, Ivy is said to symbolise everlasting life, devotion, fidelity and loyalty.

Hanging on an adjustable sterling silver chain this necklace is the perfect accessory to any outfit and a thoughtful gift for any occasion. Maybe a beach wedding, an anniversary, a gift for a mother and daughter or even a just because gift they are sure to delight the recipient.

Measurements:

Ivy leaf: approximately 17mm x 13mm

Sterling silver chain: adjustable can be worn at either 16 or 18 inches, if you would prefer a different length please get in touch. Using a silicon moulding compound I have been able to capture the delicate textures nature has created allowing me to then recreate beautiful shells in pure silver.

MATERIALS:
Pendant is made from fine silver* with a sterling silver jump rings and chain.

The pendant is based on a real ivy leaf. The original leaf was coated with multiple layers of silver clay paste, it was then fired and the resulting solid silver leaf has then been used to make a mould which allows me to recreate natures stunning designs in solid silver.

*fine made from microscopic particles of pure silver (much of which is recycled) embedded in an organic binder. It can be rolled, moulded, shaped, textured and stamped before drying and then firing. During firing, the binder burns away, and the result is a beautiful piece of fine silver which is 99.9% pure and, unlike sterling silver which is 92.5%, it will remain super shiny with only a quick polish required now and again.
