Description
My stained glass Tiffany style, copper foil snowdrop sculptures are my unique design, all made by hand in my glass workshop in North Wales.
Each piece starts with tracing the design onto glass, which is then scored and broken (this is how glass is ‘cut’). Any sharp edges are smoothed, then each piece is wrapped in copper foil then assembled; pinned in place whilst soldered. All edges are finished with a fully formed rounded solder bead, ensuring the highest quality finish that will stand the of time. Small wire legs are attached before a final clean, polish and wax. Small holes are drilled into the driftwood allowing the legs to be inserted and glued to secure the sculpture.
The snowdrop clump measures approx. 20cm x 14cm (width x height) at it’s extremities and each piece of driftwood varies in size. Each wire stem is poseable so the overall size can vary.
Once your order is placed, I will send you photos of the current driftwood I have in stock for your to pick your preferred base.
Materials;
Glass, solder, copper foil, copper wire, driftwood.
Glass Characteristics;
No two pieces are ever exactly alike as every sheet of glass has its own unique characteristic when it is produced; be that in it’s wispy lines, bubbles and other textures. As such please be aware that any piece you order from me will always have slight variation from the example photographs. Before sending out your order I will send you picture(s) of your piece to ensure you are entirely happy with it. Please bear in mind that glass colour changes greatly depending how much light, along with the quality of that light, shining through it – every piece can look very different as the light changes throughout the day. I always try to ensure that my photographs capture a true likeness of the glass colour.
