Sterling Silver and Golden Green Clay Heart Brooch

Description

This unique heart shaped brooch, is handcrafted from sterling silver strip and filled with golden green polymer clay to the front, and resin to the back. Embedded in the resin is a sterling silver pin, with locking pinch clasp.
Although it appears multi-shaded, only one colour of clay has been used, but it has been manipulated in such a way to bring out the chatoyancy of the material (akin to the effect seen in tiger’s eye stones). It has been sanded and polished to a satin finish.

All of my clay is mixed by hand, in small batches, to ensure each piece is unique.

Please note that due to the approximately 4mm gap between the back of the brooch and the lock position of the clasp, this design is most suitable for thicker materials.
