Cuttlefish bone casting:
The process of cuttlefish casting is an ancient sustainable technique which has been used by jewellers for hundreds of years. The cuttlefish bone is used as a mould making and casting material by pressing or carving into the bone. The molten silver is poured into the mould. What is created are beautiful textured items. These are then used to create unique jewellery pieces.
Stones cast in place:
This is a process where the stones are placed within the mould during casting. The molten metal is poured into the mould and the stones are surrounded.
Rough cut Sapphire:
Rough cut sapphires are sapphires that have not yet been polished or shaped into finished gemstones. They retain their natural form, which can vary significantly in size, color, and appearance. These sapphires are typically found in alluvial deposits or minedfrom metamorphic rocks and igneous formations. They can come in various colors, including blue, pink, yellow, and green, with blue being the most recognized hue.
Labradorite Stone:
Labradorite is renowned for its mirage of colours and display of Labradorescence. Its flash of colour can contain blue, green, yellow, orange, red and even purple.
Bezel Setting:
A bezel is made to fit around the item to be set. A fine silver bezel strip is used to make the walls of the bezel and this is attached to a sterling silver base. The encases the item and then finally the bezel strip is pushed over the item to hold it in place.
Packaging:
These earrings will be carefully wrapped and presented in a box or linen gift bag.

Hallmarking Rules:
British Hallmarking laws standard state all silver items over 7.78 grams and gold over 1 gram will need to be hallmarked. The UK hallmarking consist of the standard marking for metal purity, the London assay mark, and my maker’s mark (KLR). Items under 7.78g in weight do not require a hallmark but the description needs to clearly state the metal types used.
Care of Jewellery:
My jewellery is handmade and will need to be cared for correctly to ensure longevity. It is recommended that jewellery be removed before bed, when exercising, gardening, or taking a bath. Do not swim in your jewellery as salt water and chlorine can tarnish the silver. Try to avoid contact with perfume, hairspray, lotions, makeup, or cleaning products.
To clean your jewellery, hot soapy water and a very soft toothbrush are recommended. Rinse and dry carefully, and then shine up with a silver polish cloth. Please note: this will not remove scratches.
Returns:
In the interests of hygiene, earrings for pierced ears cannot be returned unless faulty.

CANCELLATION / RETURN / EXCHANGE POLICY
My unique pieces are made with a great deal of care and customer satisfaction is hugely important to me. If there are any problems with an order, please don’t hesitate to contact me straight away and we can discuss the best way to resolve the situation.
If you are not completely happy with anything you purchased or if you decide the order isn’t quite as expected, I am happy to accept returns and a refund or exchange can be arranged . This is providing that item is returned and in their original condition, unworn or unused and in original packaging.
Please let me know of your intention of return within 14 days of receiving it.
Return shipping costs are the customers responsibility. It is strongly recommended that any items being returned are sent using a tracked or 'signed for' service with proof of postage obtained. I cannot take responsibility for any items that are lost in the post during the return process.

If you are not entirely happy with you order and would like a refund or exchange, please contact me and return item within 14 days of the purchase date. The item must be in its original packaging and undamaged.
The following items are exempt from return or exchange :
-Earrings ( for hygiene purposes).
-Discounted or sale items.
Conditions of return.
The buyer is responsible for the return postage costs.
If the item is damaged on receipt of return the buyer will be responsible for the loss of value.
Privacy Policy:
When you place an order with The Silver Hut on The British Craft House we receive the following details so that we can fulfil your order: name, address, email address, your user name, and if different the recipient’s name and email address.
We will only use the information received to process your order and contact you to advise of information regarding your order and its dispatch/shipping status.
Order information will be retained for accounts and tax purposes, and we have a legal requirement to keep this for 7 years. After this time the information will be destroyed.
If at any point you believe the information, we possess about you is incorrect, you can request to see this information and have it corrected or deleted. If you wish to raise a complaint on how we have handled your personal data, you can contact us to have the matter investigated and we will respond to you within 28 days.
