Sterling Silver hare locket – hinged design – moongazing hare – etched locket

This sterling silver hare locket with traditional hinged opening design has the image of a moongazing hare against a patterned moon etched onto both sides of this fully hallmarked circular domed piece. It is then polished to reveal the running form of this magnificent creature on both sides. The swivel design slides smoothly from side to side revealing the oxidised inner chamber: a small hinged clasp holds the locket firmly closed so that the precious contents you place inside will not be lost. Every part of this piece is completely handmade, from the original drawing to the final rivet that acts as a swivel hinge to open and close the piece. I use environmentally friendly processes throughout my practice, complimenting the imagery adorning my work.
