Description
Meadow Leap showcases the power and speed of a hare bounding across a meadow. Every detail has been carefully considered, ensuring that this textile interpretation captivates the viewer with a sense of motion.
The sky is crafted from a combination of batik and white satin fabrics, while painted lutrador softens the edges and creates a streak of light. A small glistening moon is positioned above the hare’s head, enhancing the feeling of limitless freedom in its leap.
A special feature of this piece is the meadow in the lower half, where grasses are applied diagonally to further enhance the illusion of speed. The grass heads are made using a unique decorative yarn. In the foreground, heather and green vegetation can be seen. The entire piece is enhanced with free machine embroidery and some hand-embroidered flowers.
The hare is slightly padded, giving the effect that it is leaping out of the background. It has been skillfully constructed primarily from faux fur and velvets, and is elaborately decorated to evoke the sense of fur and muscle. This work is an outstanding example of original textile art.
