Description

“Sunflowers and Cypresses” is a textile work of art inspired by the wonderful work of Vincent van Gogh.
Many layers of fabric have been used to create the “starry night” feel of the sky.
Free machine embroidery with some hand embroidery has been used to create the swirling sky.
The cypresses have been appliqued on in a manner to interpret van Gogh’s brushstrokes. Again hand embroidery has been used to emphasise the movement.
The sunflowers in the foreground are 3D. The centres were created by plaiting strips of fabric together, Stitching in a circular shape and embellishing with a few beads.
This is an original work of art made solely by myself.

The artwork comes with a hanging sleeve.
The piece will be treated with a fabric protector.
