Hi, I’m Jill, and I live on the beautiful Scottish Isle of Arran
I left London to figure out what I wanted to do with my life and came up here for a season to reset, but that was 20 years ago now! I fell in love with the island and permanently swapped city life for lambing sheep and feeding cattle after meeting my farmer partner.
You can’t help but be inspired by the natural beauty that envelops you on Arran, and this influences all my work. My beach themed door handles are inspired by the rugged coastlines and sandy coves around the island where it is easy to lose yourself in the varied wildlife and the salty tang of the sea. As each piece is utterly unique and impossible to exactly replicate, every time I open the kiln it is with great excitement and curiosity to see what I have made.
I love using the bold, bright colours of the water that sing in the light, and the muted, softer tones of the beach and the sky that calm the mind, and hope to bring a little of that beach peace to every home that has my products.
Working with glass is truly a joy and a privilege, and I feel very lucky to know a few of its secrets to be able to bring it to life in a new way.
