Vendor Biography

Hello, I’m Claire – and I’ve been obsessed with beads and sparkly things for as long as I can remember!

It all started with a magical old tin of jewellery, buttons, and beads gifted to me by my grandmother. From there, I was hooked—spending every spare moment rummaging through craft shops, hunting for treasure in junk stores, and making jewellery to sell at local fairs. What began as a childhood passion blossomed into a full-blown career, and I’ve been lucky enough to work in the jewellery industry for over 30 years (yes, really!).

After graduating with a BA Hons in Jewellery Design from the legendary Central St Martins in London, I got stuck into the commercial world—designing for most of the UK’s high-street jewellery retailers and collaborating with major fashion brands. These days, I juggle freelance design work in jewellery, graphics, and branding, all while fuelling my creative cravings.

My love for teaching was inspired by my wonderful mum, who taught embroidery for years after starting her career in occupational therapy. She always believed in the healing power of making, and that’s something I’ve carried forward. After she passed in July 2024, I felt even more driven to continue her legacy—encouraging creativity as a tool for connection and well-being.

Now, through workshops and DIY kits, I help others discover the joy of crafting—whether it’s trying something new, finding a creative escape, or simply making something beautiful with your hands.

Inspiration? I find it everywhere—the pattern on a vintage tile, the colour of a flower in my garden, or even the design on a food label (much to my family’s amusement… I’ve been known to stop mid-walk to snap a photo of a particularly gorgeous paving stone!). I’m a colour lover, pattern spotter, and lifelong bead fanatic—and I can’t wait to share that passion with you.
