Jo Studied fine art sculpture at Staffordshire University, graduating with a first class BAHons.On leaving college she worked for a model making company in Hertfordshiresculpting the original models for cartoon characters that were to be mass produced. After 3 years Jo left to combine teaching with a small part time glass etching business. Part time became full time & Jo began a larger scale business operating from workshop premises in Watford where her grandfather & father used to run a shoe repair business for over 50 years. With mother involved with bookkeeping & deliveries it was a real family business.
9 years later and with business booming Jo’s partner Adam came fully on board too, applying business skills from his corporate background whilst learning the etching processes. Together they formed ‘four hands’. Since 2006 the emphasis of Four Hands has changed somewhat from a craft show heavy schedule (42 in 2007) to concentrating efforts on commission work whilst maintaining a presence at what we consider to be some of the finest craft shows in the country.
