The Maker

Lucea Jewellery is my quiet, persistent becoming.

I’m Lucie, the maker behind Lucea. I’m based in Essex, where I create each piece by hand in the hours I carve out around a full-time life… evenings, weekends, moments when everything else softens and I can return to the bench.

I didn’t come to jewellery through a traditional path. I am self-taught. What started as curiosity slowly became something I couldn’t ignore. A need to create, to shape, to work with metal and stone in a way that felt grounding and deeply personal.

I grew up in the Czech Republic, surrounded by forests. After moving to the UK, I fell in love with the sea. Between these landscapes, my aesthetic began to form… organic, textural, imperfect in a way that feels honest.

Lucea was never meant to be build quickly. It is shaped slowly, piece by piece, alongside my life.

The Work

I create both fine and artisan jewellery, all by hand in my Essex studio.

Many of my pieces begin in wax. I sculpt each form slowly, using the traditional, thousands years old process of lost wax casting. It allows me to create shapes that feel soft, organic and almost grown rather than made. Forms that carry movement and subtle irregularities that machines cannot replicate.

Alongside casting, I fabricate pieces by hand at the bench, shaping, soldering and finishing each one individually.

Some designs are more refined, others more raw and expressive, but all of them are made with the same intention: to create jewellery that feels personal, considered, and made to last.

Every piece is one of a kind. Not because it sounds romantic, but because I don’t want to make them any other way.

Materials & Meaning

The materials I use matter deeply to me.

I work with solid silver and solid gold — never plated. I choose these metals because they are made to endure. They can be worn every day, repaired, reshaped, and passed on. They don’t fade with time, they become part of it.

Gemstones sit at the centre of many of my pieces. I select each one myself, drawn to unusual cuts, subtle colours and stones that feel quietly powerful rather than perfect. I work with sapphires, garnets, aquamarines, tourmalines and other natural gems, choosing them slowly and intentionally.

I also use moissanite, which I love as a modern and conscious alternative. Its fire and brilliance are extraordinary, it catches the light in a way that feels alive. For me, it offers beauty without compromise.

Whether I’m creating a more refined fine piece or a raw artisan design, I choose materials with longevity in mind, so each piece can stay with you for years to come.

The Evolution

Lucea did not begin as fine jewellery.

It began with silver. With learning. With making by hand, piece by piece, without certainty of where it would lead.

Over time, something shifted. A growing fascination with gemstones. A desire for stronger settings, richer materials, and more sculptural, lasting forms. What started as artisan work gradually evolved into a more refined practice, one that now sits between two worlds.

Today, Lucea exists as both.

Artisan pieces — organic, expressive, often experimental.
Fine jewellery — more structured, stone-led, designed for longevity and significance.

Rather than separating the two, I let them coexist. Each informs the other. Each reflects a different moment in the same ongoing journey.

I am currently completing a Diploma in Fine Jewellery, continuing to refine me technical skill while deepening the creative direction.

Lucea Jewellery
is not created for trends or seasons.

It is created slowly, in the margins of a full life, with care and intention.

Each piece carries time, attention, and a part of my story  and then becomes part of yours.

A piece to mark something.
A piece to grow with.
A piece to keep.
