Vendor Biography

Hello, I am Lucinda from Lucinda’s Art, an embroidery artist from Cardiff.

I create hand embroidered framed pictures, hoops and mini hoop pendants, brooches and keyrings.

Most of my work draws inspiration from the Pembrokeshire coastline. Growing up, we spent the summers in Pembrokeshire creating fond memories. Those memories of coastal life have remained with me over the years and echo in my work.  I am particularly captivated by the rock formations and appreciate how they can uniquely identify a beach.

My work is created using a mixture of techniques, with hand embroidery playing a central and deeply meaningful role in bringing each piece to life. I often begin with a soft watercolour wash for the background, creating a gentile, atmospheric base. From there, hand embroidery becomes the heart of the piece, adding texture, detail and a tactile quality that invites a closer look. This approach combines my love for both painting and embroidery.

I hold a degree in Art and Aesthetics, where I focused on art history, philosophy, and practical art. Every piece I create is handcrafted by me right here in Wales.

Embroidery is a deeply meditative and joyful practice, one that grounds me, creatively and emotionally. I love the mindful practice of embroidery.
