Vendor Biography

Hi I’m Sue,  thank you for visiting my shop!! I use a lot of different materials in my various crafts, and they range from Needle Felting to Encaustic Wax Paintings, Handmade Journals plus many others!!!

I started working with Encaustic Beeswax in 2017 after a visit to the Isle of Wight. We visited a craft centre there and were fascinated by a lady that was making these wonderful pictures with coloured beeswax and an iron. We watched her for ages and asked her all about it and she was selling starter kits so I decided I couldn’t leave without one!! Once we got home, I started to have a go and I was hooked.

The passion for needle felting began after I brought a small kit just so I could ‘have a go’!! I made some tiny hedgehogs and loved the process so I looked into how I could teach myself to make larger items and where I could purchase all the materials I needed.  I love how you can let your imagination help you make just about anything from unspun wool and some barbed needles.

I also use acrylic and watercolour paints, it took me a while to paint anything I was happy with but through perseverance and patience I am now able to paint things that I am quite proud of.

I make Junk Journals and Journal Notebooks from scratch, filling them with my own hand dyed papers and lots of lovely ephemera.

I am lucky enough to have a craft/art studio in our home, I love being in there and find it hard to drag myself sometimes!!!
