Willow Gifts and Jewellery

Vendor Biography

I set up Willow Gifts and Jewellery in 2020 after a lovely weekend away in the New Forest with my sister.  She bought herself a beautiful necklace and bought me a gorgeous silver bangle set with an amethyst cabachon.  I found myself thinking that I would love to be able to make something like these. I did some research and discovered the Silver Clay School run by Emma Gordon.  I signed and became addicted to making jewellery with silver clay. As it is worked just like clay, the design possibilities are endless, it’s incredibly versatile and once fired, all the organic clay burns off leaving 99.9% pure, fine silver. Since the silver is recycled it’s also environmentally friendly.  The sterling silver chains, fastenings, posts etc are also made from recycled silver. I take a lot of inspiration from the natural world, and the real leaf pieces are some of my favourites to make.

Then this year I discovered resin and a new addiction was born. Again I love the versatility and endless variations in colour and design. It’s tough, hard wearing and easy to clean with a damp cloth.

I pride myself on making everything to the highest standard and I enjoy the fact that every piece, due to being handmade, has it’s own little variations making everything completely unique.

The feeling of someone liking something I have designed and created enough to buy it and even wear it is really amazing.
