Zara Katrina Illustrates

Vendor Biography

Welcome to Zara Katrina Illustrates.  I am a self-taught freelance illustrator with a love of creating unique illustrations of people, animals and places, in a whimsical, picture book style.

I live on the south coast of England with my family (which includes twin sons, my partner, two guinea pigs and an English Shepherd dog called Marple).

I create original illustrations, in a picture-book style of animals and people by hand using a mixed media approach (I use gouache and watercolour paints, inks, pencils and draw digitally).

I love capturing natural family interactions and children playing, as well as illustrating nature and animals. I previously worked as a Primary school teacher for over twenty years, which gave me fantastic insights into helping me capture different personalities, situations and interactions in my illustrations.

My work has a nostalgic quality whilst also being timeless. I reflect the modern world of children, families and animals in my whimsical style. I use a good dose of humour too in my illustrations!

I can create beautiful bespoke illustrations of your loved ones. My clients comment on the care with which I communicate with them to produce an illustration that they treasure. I also love to illustrate pets. I am available to take commissions.

I also sell my original artworks, as well as high-quality giclee prints of my illustrations in a variety of sizes. I am always adding to my shop and am currently creating illustrated gifts, including cards, mugs and bags. My range will continue to expand as I am passionate about illustrating.

If you would like to commission me for an illustration or have any questions you’d like to ask about my illustrations, please don’t hesitate to reach out and contact me.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and look at my shop. Please look at my blog and newsletter here for more information. It means so much that you are supporting my small illustration business.
