Description
“Mists of Avalon” portrays the enchanting Glastonbury Tor, a location deeply rooted in Celtic mythology and closely associated with the tales of King Arthur. This site holds significant mythological and spiritual importance, topped by the roofless St. Michael’s Tower.
The artwork is a textile piece that beautifully captures this mystique. The tower has been meticulously crafted using various shades and textures of gold fabric. Sunlight is depicted streaming through the clouds, casting a magical glow on the tower, with both machine and hand embroidery illustrating the rays. A winding path leads up to the tower, designed to reflect its stonework.
A notable feature of this piece is the swirling mists, often seen as symbols of the mythical and spiritual essence of the area. Glastonbury is believed to be the Isle of Avalon, a sacred site in Arthurian legend. To create the misty effect, I used an abundance of lace and sheer fabrics, enhanced by a few sparkling rhinestones for added brilliance.
This remarkable original work of art, created solely by me, will serve as a captivating focal point in any room. It comes complete with a hanging sleeve and baton. The artwork will be treated with a fabric protector before being dispatched.
