This powerful resin artwork captures the fishing vessel Zephyr pushing through rolling seas beneath the glowing curtains of the aurora borealis. Deep blues and turquoise waves surge across the foreground, their movement and texture brought to life through layered resin, while the boat stands steady against the elements.

Above, luminous greens and soft golds sweep vertically through the sky, echoing the magic of the Northern Lights as they dance over the North Atlantic. The contrast between the vast, shifting sea and the quiet strength of the vessel reflects life and work in Shetland — resilience, skill and a deep connection to place.

Both dramatic and mesmerising, this original artwork brings together Shetland’s fishing heritage and the wonder of its night skies, making it a striking statement piece for any space.

Description

Welcome to my larger series of seascapes. The Zephyr.

I make original mixed media art signed and ready to hang.
Living on The Shetland Islands it is impossible not to be drawn to the ocean.
Each picture is a combination of epoxy resin mixed with high quality pigments, poured onto a wood board. Followed by a painted layer and finished off with a clear glossy layer of resin. Each piece of artwork is special and original.

This is a stunning piece of art that captures the power and beauty of the ocean. The resin creates a realistic wave effect, giving the painting a sense of movement and energy. It would be perfect for anyone who loves the sea and beautiful night sky.

Thank you for looking at my work.
