Wow, having spent a few days at Ladram Bay I was inspired to create this textile wall hanging showcasing these dramatic red sea stacks that the sea has carved out of the red sandstone. So dramatic. Just wonderful. took my breath away.
Many different strips of various material have been heat treated to create the stacks which have been further embellished with machine embroidery and added grasses.
These have been padded and quilted to create the shelves in the stacks.
The pebbled foreshore and sea have been made by layering many fabrics.
Two solitary figures can be glimpsed in the distance.
This is an original work of art made solely by myself
It is signed on the reverse side.
Size – Width – 34ins Drop – 21ins.
Colour – oranges, reds, yellows ,turquoises.
The piece comes with a hanging sleeve attached to the back.
It has been Treated to prevent UV damage from sunlight.
