These unique decorative spoons are handcrafted using real sand collected from Bains Beach, one of Shetland’s most recognisable and photographed beaches. The sand is set in clear resin, preserving its natural mix of colours, textures and tiny fragments, creating a beautiful snapshot of the shoreline.
Bains Beach is well known as a filming location for the BBC TV series Shetland, making these spoons a special keepsake for fans of the show as well as lovers of Shetland’s landscapes. Each spoon is individually made and finished by hand, with “Shetland” subtly embedded into the design.
Decorative rather than functional, these spoons are perfect for display, gifting, or as a meaningful reminder of time spent on Shetland’s shores. No two are ever the same, reflecting the ever-changing nature of the beach itself.
